Tender banana plants are used to decorate during festivals. 

A decorated auto-rickshaw....looks like a bumble-bee with green antennae and a white mushy-tashy...:-)) 

This is in my hometown in Karnataka. The banana's are from a cousin's orchards...

This is in my ancestral home in Karnataka....A feast for me...:-)) there was holige (poli, puran poli, sweet pancakes...) and whole bunches of other yummy things...instead of serving my aunt and sil, I am taking pictures...
